5.0 out of 5 stars A good range of Dunn's poetry, highly recommended., 25 Nov 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Selected Poems, 1964-83 (Paperback)
This book includes work from 'Terry Street', 'The Happier Life', 'Love or Nothing', 'Barbarians', 'St. Kilda's Parliament' and 'Elegies'. This is a great book for any student studying Dunn as it includes work from all the collections of his early career. Deviating from tradional poetic subjects, Dunn takes a seemingly banal incident and turns it into something beautiful and poetic. I would highly recommend this book to students and anyone who enjoys poetry. It shows Dunn's development as a poet and is an interesting and enjoyable read and re-read!
