Please do not let the aformentioned review sway your purchase of this amazing compilation of Mick's music. Starting in the group Japan in the early '70s, at age 16, Mick did not know how to play bass, horns, keyboards etc. and he has become one of the most admired players in progressive music. Mick is more than a bass machine, and this album is a good place to start to see the progression of his work as an artist playing often with other artists and and using his woodwind instruments to perfection. It will display the many beautiful styles of music he has recorded. His fretless style is unsurpassed, this record takes you on a journey of Mick's music up to this point. He is always moving in new directions and this album will demonstrate this. I do agree with the other review, in that you should buy the records he suggests to get even a fuller experience of Mick Karn's music.
