Samuel Johnson says, 'Poetry is the art of uniting pleasure with Truth'. This book does that exactly. For the first time I've seen a philosophical explanation given for famous poems by Wordsworth (like Daffodils), Milton, Matthew Arnold, Browning & extracts from Shakespeare. You don't even need a dictionary, as there is a glossary followed by commentary. What an insight. Truly amazing.

The philosophy of Vedanta is seen here in the most simple poems. Each easy to understand yet underlined with a powerful message and practical advice.

I never knew that Swamiji is also avid poem lover. The selections of poems are extremely good. they are explained in simple terms. I wished today's teacher would emulate him. This would make learning a fun rather than burden. I wished more but in small book he has exhibited his erudite about English poems. Truly, Swamiji is man of words....
