I twisted my wife's arm to get this. I love Seikos but this was expensive by Seiko standards but I took the leap, I haven't regretted it.
It is a truly lovely watch and it just shouts quality. The case is ion plated stainless steel with a ceramic band around the sapphire crystal glass. The face is colourful and clear. The band is polyurethane and sturdy. There is an unusual crown that unlocks and an inner rotating ring ring is then used for adjustment. it may sound odd but you will wonder why all marine watches don't have it.
I strongly recommend an hour or two with the substantial instruction manual before starting a button pressing fest. You may end up stuck!!!!!!!!!
The Yachting Timer can be set for five, six or ten minutes, to allow racing boats to jockey for position before crossing the line. In this mode the large second hand and small inner clock run BACKWARDS for the set time, and on the starting beep the stopwatch kicks in and measures elapsed race time normally. REMEMBER to cancel a set timer or you cannot start another (that was my STUCK bit). There is also a stopwatch, alarm, and dual time function.
Once you have it worked out it is a marvel, even without a yacht.
An obviously very classy watch to wear and enjoy.
