I was quite surprised by the small size of the this clock when I received it. It somehow looks bigger and sturdier in the picture than it actually is, and made me wonder why it cost so much. All I can think is that you are paying for the silent movement and the name. Things to consider when contemplating buying this clock: It has no light and is powered by an LR44 button battery, not the more usual AAA battery as I would have preferred. I tend to think a AAA battery will easily outlast a button battery, however I will have to wait and see. However after saying this, it is a decent little travel clock that is quiet in operation and will take up minimal space in a travel bag.

I love this little alarm clock and am on my 2nd having accidentally left the first in a hotel room recently.

The first review that says it just vibrates is just ridiculous. It gives a typical battery alarm noise that I can hear coming from the bedroom even when I am downstairs and it is enough to wake anyone from the deepest sleep.

Secondly the comments on seeing it in the dark. The hands are luminous and show up very clearly in the dark. However you have to charge the luminous paint by holding it close to a bright light for 10 seconds or so and then it is very clear. If you do not do that when you receive it you cannot see it at night.

I like it as it is very easy to set the alarm time or change the time to a different zone. I also like it because it is very light and slim. I agree it feels plasticky and cheap but if you want a very light easy to use slim alarm clock this is the one to get.

Cannot understand how you can have an alarm clock that does not ring, just vibrates instead seems pointless and not sure how it is supposes to wake anybody from a deep sleep. Suggest you buy anything but this !

Amazon's description of this product is 'the Seiko Travel Alarm Get Up and Glow Clock'. But sadly the one I purchased recently shows no sign of glowing in the dark, and is therefore hopeless when you wake up during the night and want to know the time without turning the light on. Otherwise the clock works OK, but feels a bit insubstantial for the price paid.

I have travelled the world from the Devil's Island to the Holy Land, with all kinds of faraway places in-between. What one needs on those travels is a reliable Travel Alarm clock, obligingly folding for packing, but opening to stand in a sturdy way and to wake you up reliably on time and in no uncertain manner.
When my very-very old Seiko Travel Alarm Clock finally gave up ghost (obligingly back at home, not half-way up the Amazon - the other Amazon, dear), I looked through all the many Travel Alarms on this Amazon, found this little silver fellow, bought it and we've been inseparable since. It works faultlessly and looks friendly (it's sitting on a shelf opposite the PC when we are at home). All is well...
