I have no idea if this is a good or bad product as Coco Express never sent it to me and ignored my many emails. I will now have a very upset kid on Christmas day. Cheers Coco Express, Happy Christmas!

There's no doubting the longevity of the Mega Drive. A console bought over 20 years ago will still work today. In fact in 50 years they will still probably work as good as they did right out of the box (assuming that TVs can still connect with them by then). This "slimline" version of the Mega Drive has a slightly compromised sound chip and loses the volume control and headphone jack (a shame since you could use it to hook it up to stereo speakers). Cartridge-based consoles and games died with the Nintendo 64 (but were kept alive by handhelds such as the Game Boy Advance and the Nintendo DS) even though cartridge-based games are highly durable and have no loading times because they are simply completing a circuit. It helps too that the majority of games were highly enjoyable and frequently a time capsule of 90s attitudes and fashion. I guess this is why the Mega Drive is still a sought-after console among gamers.
Bought this so I could play the games of my childhood, Road Rash 2, Super Monaco GP, Sonic etc. The games visually are nothing like todays games, but the gameplay still holds up & the music will never be equalled. Game console came on time. The only problem I'd have was the console was very dirty. After a good clean I plugged into the TV, tuned in & was up and playing in minutes. The console cost £13.99, much cheaper than a lot of others. As I want it to play & not as a collectible I'm over the moon. All I need now is to watch episodes of Bullseye after playing.

Basically it's the Sega Mega Drive, but the slightly more upgraded version, it's smaller and has red buttons instead of white, but other than that it's exactly the same as the old one.
All Sega Mega games work fine on it, and did you know; you can use your Sega Master System 2 controllers on there? Oh and the old Atari ones! :D
Hope you like this amazing retro blast from the past!

The Mega Drive is the greatest console of all time. Such memories stem from this wonder of gaming. Iconic games such as the Sonic The Hedgehog series, Super Hang on, Streets Of Rage, Golden Axe, Flashback and, of course, Fantastic Dizzy.
It may not play Blu-ray discs or wi-fi internet, but the Sega Mega Drive was the created the blueprint for the next generation beasts we see today.
All hail the Sega Mega Drive, in all it's glory!
