Manufacturer's Description

Tired of action games that value realism over fun? If so Bayonetta is the perfect cure: an outrageous brawling beat 'em-up as only the Japanese can make them. Take control of Bayonetta the only thing in the game weirder than the monsters.

Sarah Palin lookalike or dominatrix librarian?
Prepare to meet some of the strangest enemies in gaming
Bayonetta's hair can turn into a giant boot attack
The guillotine is just one of Bayonetta's "torture combos"

She might be a witch but Bayonetta isn't taking any chances when going into battle, not only does she have two handguns but her stiletto heels are also pistols and she's not above using everything from a rock launcher to a Japanese sword and a whip.

But that's only the half of it: dodge an enemy at the last second and you can enter slow motion "witch time". Or try transforming into a panther or turn Bayonetta's hair into a giant boot - the more complex your attacks the more chances you'll get to use torture combos to really do some damage. After this any other action game will seem tame by comparison.

Key Features
  • Witch girl: The most exciting new games character for years bursts onto the scene with third person combat that mixes surreal visuals with ultra deep combat.
  • Weapons mistress: Juggle a huge range of weapons from stiletto-mounted handguns to a two-handed sword, a magic whip or a good old fashioned shotgun.
  • Hair-raising attacks: Incredible magic moves from a transforming panther attack to hair that can be turned into a fist, boot or giant monster.
  • Hurt locker: Perform enough standard attacks and you can unleash special torture combos and catch your enemies in a deadly guillotine or iron maiden.
  • Capcom may cry: The latest game from Hideki Kamiya - creator of Devil May Cry, as well as Viewtiful Joe, Okami and Resident Evil 2.
About the Developer: Platinum Games
Founded by the key members of Capcom's Clover Studio, Platinum Games has the most star-studded line-up of any independent Japanese developer - including the creators of Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe and Okami. Their first games include MadWorld and Bayonetta.

Product Description

From the creators of Devil May Cry and Resident Evil comes the free flowing over-the-top action, extravagant weapons, demonic hair and savage grace of Bayonetta. Play as Bayonetta, a witch with powers beyond the comprehension of us mere mortals and face-off against countless angelic enemies, evil forces and giant sized foes in a game of 100% pure and unadulterated all-out action. Outlandish finishing moves are performed with balletic grace as Bayonetta flows from one fight to another. With magnificent over-the-top action taking place in stage that are a veritable them park of exciting attractions, Bayonetta pushes the limits of the action genre, bringing to life its fast-paced, dynamic climax combat.

Tired of action games that value realism over fun. If so Bayonetta is the perfect cure: an outrageous brawling beat 'em-up as only the Japanese can make them. Take control of Bayonetta the only thing in the game weirder than the monsters.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very fun, but a little bit unequal in difficulty 21 April 2010
By E. Cron
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I've finished the game a few days ago, and I must say that it is awesomely fun. You never get bored by a single moment of the game, and I really recommend it to fans of the Devil May Cry series. Graphics are impressive, music is nice (if you like the style ;)), and the gameplay is rich enough to always give you some new ideas to destroy your enemies in a new way. I also laughed quite a lot of times in front of my screen because of the funny situations in which the character is set into.

However, a few darker points on the game:
- Difficulty is unequal is Normal mode. Some passages are REALLY hard, and I mean it. You're sometimes really happy to start the area with a full bar of magic, so that you can nearly one-shot one of two very tough enemies.
- The story is not very clear; even if it's not what we really ask to a game like this one.
- Levels are sometimes a bit confusing. Why this level comes after this one? Logic is missing at moments when switching from one level to another.

However, even with these defects, the game remains a very good way to pass your time or your nerves, have a fun experience in a humorist world, and enjoy a well balanced gameplay.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic insane game 10 May 2010
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
this has traits of devil may cry written all over it!!

this is one very busy fast paced game, buying power ups, health, techniques, lots of baddies to fight, wild bosses and awesome firepower to fight them with, it strikes me as having quite a few different gameplays all roled into one.

I thought this was quite a long game and some levels are big,

you will find you will be button bashing quite a lot,

i recommend this all day long, one of the few games that i have finished and will instantly play again.

If you like dmc buy this, you will be glad you did :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars This game is tight dawg! xD 8 July 2011
By Benny

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
A review from Benny, please read :D

I'd like to start off that this game is FREAKIN' AWESOME. Although I haven't completed it, this game has took my breath away. I'm currently up to chapter 8, so far, the game has not been a let down. The game genre that appeals to me the most would be an action/adventure game or a 'Hack n' Slash' game. This game fits the bill. Let me also say that if you enjoy the Devil May Cry series you will certainly enjoy this, or at least, give it a try.

Now let me talk about the visuals/graphics. "Beautiful". As Rodin would say. The game runs smoothly at 60 FPS, I see no frame rate drops or screen tear on this version. As for the PS3 version, that one may be disappointing, as I have played it at my cousins house. I am not taking sides or anything, I'm just saying that the PS3 version is a terrible port of the 360 version, thus giving it laggy gameplay, etc. The aesthetic quality is amazing, the colours are very bright and vivid, especially in different levels such as 'Paradiso'.

Ok, now let me talk about the difficulty options of the game. This game has difficulties from very easy to normal. From what I've seen anyway, there is no hard mode, maybe you have to beat the game to unlock it?
I started this game well on the normal difficulty, as I progressed through different levels, I noticed the game started to get alot more tougher than usual. The bosses are very challenging, with a little health bar you possess and maybe one recovery item that won't even fill half of that. Sometimes I would have to switch on easy mode, which would give me a bigger life bar and less damage from enemies. The difficulty doesn't affect my rating on this game whatsoever. I love challenging games :D

Moving on to the gameplay. The character you play as, Bayonetta, a seductive woman with a strong sexual appeal and god like powers. Bayonetta has a wide range of moves, from huge heels to break dancing to slowing down time. You can unlock more moves which will cost you points WHICH you score from the levels you play in. The better you progressed through that level the more points you earn. Usually halo's represent the points system. There's also a huge selection of weapons to choose from, her regular weapons would be the two guns she uses. They are upgradable. And she can possess four weapons at once. Switching from the two. I.e. using swords and guns. She also has a morphing ability, but you can find that out for yourself ;)

The Bosses are huge! At the beginning of the game I thought the first boss was huge, as you progress through each level, the boss you noticed at the beginning is a little baby compared to the rest, seriously. They are very challenging. The enemies, they're also a pain in the butt. But I must say that it will not get boring as different enemies appear around the corner each time! I guess you can call them sub-bosses. Sometimes you may have to face two...or four. The levels are stunning and not repetitive, you will fight through different types of environments. From hellish volcanic structures to heavenly calm arenas.

I haven't got most of the story yet but only because I have just begun the game, so I cannot comment on that part yet, but, so far so good. I can say alot more, but I want to save it until I complete the game. If this review or other reviews isn't enough, look up gameplay videos on YouTube or download the demo version!

I hope you enjoyed my review :D
Thanks guys.
