Product Description

SideQuests are stand-alone stories or novellas that chronicle the heroes, villains, and adventures in The Foreworld Saga across numerous eras and ages. They can be read in any order with or without prior knowledge of The Foreworld Saga.

When a merchant appears at the Catalonian chapter house of the Shield-Brethren, seeking to hire guards for his caravan, young Andreas is suspicious. Knights with his martial prowess are above protecting mere cargo wagons. Yet Andreas’s wanderlust outweighs his concern, and soon the group is headed to the merchant’s mountain village—and into great danger.

As the caravan approaches, a woman suffering from terrifying visions feverishly paints her latest revelation—in her own blood. The image horrifies her fellow villagers, who fear an imminent attack, or worse, the return of the brutal Inquisition. But when Andreas deciphers the painting’s true meaning, it may forever impact his wandering ways, his unspoken fears, and his very future with the Shield-Brethren.

Following Sinner and Dreamer, this Foreworld SideQuest reveals the painful truth that sometimes seeing what is to come is far worse than not knowing.

An interesting enough tale but anyone who has read the first three Foreworld books will have already read this as it was included in the Kindle edition as a preface. I feel totally ripped off and as a consequence would be very reluctant to purchase any of the side quests in future. They are mostly poorly written and very short. To be fair Mark Teppo strings an interesting enough tale but why would anyone want to buy it twice?

This book already forms part of Mongoloid book 3 and should not be sold separately.
Amazon normally warn you if you have already purchased a copy bit did not do so in this case.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another solid side quest of the Mongoliad world 26 Mar 2013
By AK TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
'Seer' is another one of the by now standard side quests of the Mongoliad franchise. And like previously, Seer: A Prequel to the Mongoliad is included in The Mongoliad: Book Three (The Foreworld Saga), so if you have the latter, a separate purchase of 'Seer' makes no sense.

The side quest follows Andreas and his development in the pre-Mongoliad times. The story revolves around a seer in a mountain village, an insight she manages to produce in Brother Andreas and is enriched with a small scrap during the Shield Brethren caravan guarding duties.

The book will probably not satisfy readers looking for a complete, rounded piece of writing but does a good job of providing a couple of chapters on Andreas' back story, making him a more complete character in the main Mongoliad franchise.
