Book Description

10 May 2014 Seeking Daylight
Louis Witherspoon has little idea just how important he is.
After all, at Hinsdale Academy he is known by his classmates as little more than the scrawny kid who was only accepted to the prestigious school because he is the grandson of the janitor…that is, if he’s noticed at all.
But everything changes when Louis’ grandfather suddenly disappears, and he is left with a mysterious map that once belonged to a father Louis has never known. Along with his only two friends, Owen and Sophie, Louis is thrust into another world that he might have found right under his nose, if he had known where to look for it.
It is a story of friendship, hardship and of fantastic adventure. But most of all, it’s the story of three very different classmates who rise to meet the awesome challenges that life has thrown in their way…together.
What readers are saying about "Seeking Daylight":
“The type of story that will have you believing a portal to another realm might be buried in your basement.” – Stephen P. (Amazon Review)
“Potential classic in the fantasy genre.” – Lucidity (Amazon U.K. Review)
Whether you are a first time fantasy reader, or have grown up with the genre, there’s sure to be something for you to love about P.J. Owen’s episodic fantasy series, Seeking Daylight.

About the Author

P.J. Owen grew up among the tree-lined streets of upstate New York's wine country. He split his childhood between schoolwork, exploring outdoors, reading the books of authors like Tolkien and Salinger, playing games like The Legend of Zelda, and devouring movies like The Goonies, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones.
As a teen he took to writing, short stories mostly, and song lyrics to perform with his largely unknown band. Later on, at the urging of his parents, P.J. studied business, and still operates two companies of his own.
At the ripe old age of thirty-five Owen made a decision to return to writing, and sat down to pen the story he had been playing in his mind all those years before, the stories that would eventually become the serialized middle-grade fantasy series, Seeking Daylight.
Owen continues to live in upstate New York, with his wife on their small horse farm, soaking in todays books, movies, and pop-culture. He can still be found exploring the outdoors and thinking up stories, if only for himself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cleverly written and captivating 15 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The first episode of Seeking Daylight is an exciting fantasy book; the story is well written and the author portrays a good adventure theme with some very creative writing. I think many different age groups can respect and enjoy this book and I am sure, with the release of future episodes in the series, this may even have the potential to be a classic in the fantasy genre. I think this book should be in every school library due to the fact that it is very well written while still also being very captivating to a younger audience. I think the younger generation could appreciate reading more if they had a chance to get a hold of this book. I am excited for the next books in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seeking Daylight, Episode 1 26 May 2013
By J.A. Franklin - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
The story focuses on a student by the name of Louis Witherspoon. He was sent away to a boarding school for gifted students by his mother and grandpa. Louis was in the fifth grade. His mother and grandpa believed this was truly a great opportunity for a good start in life for him. His family was seen as more so on the lower income level-especially since his father had mysteriously disappeared out of their lives. Louis's grandpa Andy worked at the academy he attended as a custodian. Occasionally, Louis would help him with his work--much to his dissent at times.
The Academy was now out for winter break and as much as Louis wanted to go somewhere prestigious for his vacation he knew his only option was to go home. Louis had a very tough time with the idea of his father disappearing out of his family's life within a blinking of an eye. Read how he dealt with this loss. This children's book(Episode 1) turns out to be quite the mystery. There's even a mystery map. The even bigger mystery was when Grandpa Andy suddenly disappeared without notice-just as his father did.
Right about now Louis is becoming confused and doesn't know how to react or feel. Find out how an ordinary backpack might possibly hold the clues as to how his relatives disappeared.. This children's story held my complete attention so you can imagine how exciting it would be for children.
Your child would enjoy reading this adventurous, amazing, and suspenseful story that has lots of twists and turns. This episode will leave you desiring more.

This is a delightful story and I truly loved it. It is the story of young Louis finding his fate with the help of his two friends. The bond of friendship they shared is wonderful. The other characters, his Grandpa and Dad are outstanding and make the story a real joy to read. There is mystery, and magic as a new world unfolds to them. It is so well written and kept me held right from the start. I hated for it to end and I want more of this series. The author, P.J. Owen is amazing and has a brilliant imagination. I love his style and incredible mind. I highly recommend this book to everyone, not just kids. It rocks!
