4.0 out of 5 stars a case of the spots, sexy spots 14 Jan 2012
By S. Richards - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is light-hearted and sexy easy-reading that kind of makes you smile while reading it. It has a theme I really enjoy- two people thinking they are not what the other is looking for, all the while failing to remember that old saying about opposites attracting.

I liked both of these characters: Kathy, sexy, curvy and smart in her glasses, and Dare, outdoorsy, masculine and hands-on. The problem with these two is that they went to high school together, with Dare thinking Kathy was too smart for a 'dumb jock' like him (due to his dyslexia), and Kathy thinking Dare too popular for a brainiac geek like her. But even now, at twenty-eight years old, that secret crush still exists for both of them, and finally, Dare gets the courage to talk to Kathy.

From that point on, the story went from sweet to sexy, and all it took was Dare alone with Kathy and becoming entranced with her leopard-spotted shirt and underwear. And I think you can tell from the cover where this fascination comes from. I kept waiting for that to happen, what with Dare's growling and purring ways, and when it finally happened, I thought it was a funny moment and also something different, a unique little spin on shapeshifting.

For a kindle freebie, this was a very enjoyable read. Sometimes the freebies can be real hit or miss, and even if this little story hadn't been free and I'd paid for it, I still would have enjoyed it and thought it a cute and fun way to spend some time. As I said, it's not a complicated read, but it did have just the right feeling to it. Lots of sexy chemistry and an easy, natural dialogue between two sweet and likeable characters who you want to see together.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun novella 18 Dec 2011
By Carolyn Gwaltney - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
A fun, well-developed novella. Both characters are likeable, and the story is sweet and at times funny. I enjoyed the paranormal twist; it tied the whole story together. Ellen Fisher's novellas were recommended over on the Amazon user forums and read my first one over a year ago. "Seeing Spots" is another enjoyable read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Two Opposites Find Their Commonality in Spots- Just a Fun Read 28 Mar 2012
By Sophia Rose - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This was a fun short read that had me laughing and smiling at times.

Dare Greene and Katherine Parrish were polar opposites back in high school and now the same is true of them as working adults. The trouble is that the heart does not worry about scholastic scores or sports interests. Dare runs a lawn care business and finally decides to try his luck with Kathy by having her design his company web page. He, the guy who as no trouble with women, finds himself awkward and almost silent when near her in person because he thinks that she is too smart and classy for him. Kathy sees this gorgeous man who has hired her and thinks that she would never stand a chance attracting him with her glasses and her geekiness.
Except-
Kathy is wearing a leopard-spotted t-shirt that Dare cannot take his eyes off of. She figures its worth a chance so she purchases leopard spotted lingerie for their next meeting and accidentally gives him a view down her blouse. Oh yes, she got his attention alright. No words necessary now! Dare likes the spots and they both give in to their attraction.
Soon its not just about spots and sex- Dare wants more, but can a guy like him keep Kathy interested?

I will avoid the spoilers for the answer to that and the fun plot twist near the end.

The story is a fast and simple short story that should not be taken too seriously. Just sit back and have some fun reading it.
