Product Description

Review

"Slick and highly readable" (Elle )

'A subtly sophisticated romance that outclasses most of the genre's other offerings... If it sounds chick litty, it is, but consider it haute chick lit. Palmer's prose is sharp, her characters are solid and her narrative is laced with moments of graceful sentiment'

(Publisher's Weekly )

PRAISE FOR CONVERSATIONS WITH THE FAT GIRL:
'Engaging and poignant and heartbreakingly real, Liza Palmer's tale of best friends, true love and just what size happily-ever-after wears is a winning conversation' (Jennifer Weiner, bestselling author of GOOD IN BED )

‘Pardon the pun, but CONVERSATIONS WITH THE FAT GIRL is far from lightweight. Its message about self image and the power of attitude in making positive change is delivered in a snappy fashion. In a word: genuine.’

(Herald Sun )

‘Palmer’s likable characters and snappy dialogue make this novel stand out from the crowd, and it’s sure to attract fans of Jennifer Weiner...' (Booklist )

'Smart, funny and heartbreakingly honest.' (Johanna Edwards, bestselling author of THE NEXT BEST THING )

Publishers Weekly

'Palmer follows up her mirthful debut "Conversations with the Fat Girl", with a subtly sophisticated romance that outclasses most of the genre's other offerings... If it sounds chick litty, it is, but consider it haute chick lit. Palmer's prose is sharp, her characters are solid and her narrative is laced with moments of graceful sentiment"

Naff title, great book 5 April 2008
Format:Paperback
Seriously, don't be put off by the dreadful title. I don't think I've ever read a book that's been so misrepresented in quality by its name. Anyhoo, not to worry. Liza's book is fan dabby dosey. Was gutted when it ended. She's got these supercool characters like Rascal - all intello, naughty boy hottness and irresistible to women... her heroine Elisabet - a genius at creating the most delicious patisserie known to LA's gourmets... and Daniel, the built like the proverbial outhouse but with a soft, gooey centre who Elisabeth may or may not manage to end up with... You just kinda wish you were in LA hanging out with them they're so much fun.
Liza's writing is witty and gorgeous and you won't want to put this down.

I loved talking with the fat girl but I was a little disapointed with this book - it got a bit better towards the end but I would'nt read it again

like conversations with a fat girl, this was great, lovely style of writing. waiting for a field guide to burying your parents arriving to get stuck in. pure escapism with characters you can identify with!
