Not quite as good as the fabulous Anymore for Anymore, but still well worth hearing. What particularly struck me is how very similar in sound and approach it was to Joe Strummer's later work with the Mescaleros. Both strongly share a romantic on-the-road rock-back-to-roots sound and sensibility. Indeed on Strummer's cover of the traditional Minstrel Boy he namechecks Pete Townsend - I wonder if theres a Ronnie link there.

Good but not great. 4 Mar 2001
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This is the weakest of the late, great Ronnie Lane's four solo discs. This is recorded without his fine backing band Slim Chance. Eric Clapton sits in on three cuts. Other guest musicians include Mel Collins, Ian Stewart, Alun Davies and Henry McCullough. Where there are some weaker cuts that just don't quite work there are some truly brilliant one's as well. Some of the stand-out cuts include Lad's Got Money, She's Leaving, Barcelona (co-written with Clapton) and Kuschty Rye. Still worth picking up but I would recommend you start with Anymore for Anymore, One For The Road or Slim Chance prior to this one...Simon

Fantastic 12 May 2006
By Michael Stout - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This is Ronnie's last real album. This continues from the style of Ronnie's three previous releases (not counting the soundtrack) and updates the sound slightly (for the day). Check out Good Ol' Boys Boogie--Ronnie goes New Wave! Despite the slightly glossier production the songs still shine amazingly brightly, with rollicking folk tunes and wistful ballads. I was humming "She's Leaving" for months afterwards. Skip the compilations, the reissues, the live recordings, the outtakes and pick this up. You will be rewarded. Ronnie, we miss ya.

Another GREAT Ronnie Lane album!! 5 April 2008
By Tuco - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
it's a shame there are so few reviews here for the Great Ronnie Lane's few studio albums. I don't think the man ever wrote anything I didn't like...

While the production style of SEE ME is ever so slightly updated from his usual grassroots production style, the songs are in the same exact tone and style that we have become accustomed to in his other great works. Not a bad track in the bunch.

Don't hesitate to add this one to your collection and be sure to spread the word on this often overlooked and master musician!!
