Read this before "Will Write For Shoes",

This review is from: See Jane Write (Paperback)
This full colour guide to writing chick lit is a fun, humourous read which will give you a lot of inspiration.
It helps you to avoid cliches and make your chaarcters original and interesting, in addition to this it will point you to some great chick lit reads. Even if you don't particularly want to write chick lit but love to read it, buy this book and you will enjoy it. If you are serious about writing for the chick lit market, I would advise you read this book to start you off and get some ideas flowing but then definitely move on to "Will Write for Shoes" by Cathy Yeardly. This is a lot more in depth and instructive for someone who is seriously thinking of writing something for publication but could bog down someone who is still undecided about whether to write chick lit or not. If you read this after having read Yeardly's book, it could be a disappointment.

This is very light and easy to read and contains some good ideas to get you started on your own chick lit writing. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to write in this genre.

Brilliant!,
By Nidarosa (Cheshire, England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: See Jane Write (Paperback)
This book tells you - in a very light, fun and easily understandable way - how to think when you want to write a chick lit novel, focusing on the don'ts and giving you examples and tips along the way. Even though a lot of it seems self evident, it's still very helpful to have it all in one book to go back to whenever you're stuck or need advice or inspiration.
