I wish these "See Inside..." books had been around when I was little! Yet again, this is a lovely and colourful, fun and informative book that my little boys love.

The contents of this book are as follows:
In the beginning (covers the Big Bang)
Heavenly bodies (lots of information about space, stars and planets)
Life as we know it (different types of creature, DNA, food webs etc)
The smallest things (info about cells, atoms)
The secret behind everything (energy)
Mixed reactions (elements)
Putting things together (amazing contraptions)
See into the future (how scientists are trying to learn more about our world)

As with all the See Inside... books, this book has lots of lovely illustrations that often explain the subject matter quite nicely. There are over 50 flaps to lift up, with further information underneath them - my sons always love peeking under to see what else it's going to show or tell them.

There is loads of information in this book - some of it that I'd say is quite advanced. However, it's all explained in a very child-friendly and fun way and may well ignite further scientific curiousity in your child! I would imagine that it's most suitable for children from age 7 upwards, as there are quite a few tricky words and concepts in there, due to the nature of the subjects covered.

Another good book from the See Inside... guys - we'll be getting more of the series! Recommended!

I bought this book for my 7 year old daughter who loves books. We have other titles in this series and were once again thoroughly impressed.

The book contains pages of interesting facts designed for kids. There are plenty of little and big flaps to open that help explain and make the subject more fun. Packed with great illustrations.

An excellent addition to our bookshelf.

This series of books are fantastic! Children of all ages will adore these books - with flaps to open, uncovering lots of hidden information to be found on each page.
There are nine sections in the book: In the beginning; Heavenly bodies; Life as we know it; The smallest things, The secret behind everything; Mixed reactions; Putting things together; See into the future and What's what.
There are lots of facts to discover - some will help with homework, others will wow teachers due to the strange facts you can discover in this book.
There is much to learn from this book - although some of the information could be difficult to understand, this book explains it in a way that children will understand and I think it will also encourage further investigation - through other books or the Internet. A great book to introduce children of all ages to science!

I recommend this as a great present to give to a child who is beginning to ask How or Why? An introduction to science, in child friendly language, which will give children the insight into a subject they will hopefully want to learn more about after reading this book.
