Book Description

1 Jan 1994
Shorn of her glorious raven tresses and dressed as a man, Lady Antonia Lamb became Lord Anthony Lamb, desperate to keep the property entailed to her twin brother, who is missing at sea. Trapped—and liberated—by her masquerade, Tony meets her new guardian, the devastatingly dangerous Adam Savage, who has returned from his plantation in Ceylon, determined to turn the innocent "boy" into a worldly man.

More About the Author

I write lush and lusty historical romance. My heroes are dark, dominant, and dangerous, with a hint of the lurking bastard inside them. Then I create a heroine who is a match for them, or more than a match!
I have written over 30 novels, and am a NYTimes bestselling author. The first time I made that list with Seduced, I climbed on the roof and shouted it to the world!
I was born in Bolton, Lancashire, England and emmigrated to Canada when I was twelve. I married a Canadian and about twenty years ago we moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. I have two handsome sons, two outstanding grandsons, one beautiful granddaughter, and a perfect great-granddaughter.
The first line of my bestselling novel, The Pirate And The Pagan, defined my career: "What a beautiful cock!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Sensuously witty non-stop romance. 26 Nov 1996
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Virginia Henley is one of THE best romance writers out there.
She has the wonderful ability to create the most masculine,
dynamic, extraordinary male characters and of course a female
heroin with enough fire and integrity to be worthy of his
love.
Virginia Henley's characters are bold enough to rival Judith
McNaught's. Her love scenes are incomparable and wickedly
sinful. To top it all off, Seduced has the most humorous
storyline that makes for a delicious book!

2.0 out of 5 stars oh dear 20 Jun 2008
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Badly copy-edited and full of period anachronisms (the Georgian heroine frequently gasps "ohmigod" like some 1990s valley girl). The "hero" is unlikeable and twice the heroine's age, which wouldn't bother me as much if he wasn't such a controlling and blinkered individual. I actually quite liked Antonia, which saved this book from 1 star ignominy, but I don't see her and Adam having a happily-ever after.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great! 12 May 1999
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This book was wonderful! Lots of steamy love scenes, intelligently written, action all over. It took over a hundred pages for the two main characters to meet, but when they did, it was worth the wait!

2.0 out of 5 stars Storyline was different, BUT... 10 May 1999
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Antonia's mother was Adam Savage's mistress in Ceylon, and he had been planning on marrying her! Like a coward, he had planned to hide that news from her, and she never would have found out if her mother hadn't told her. Am I the only one around here who finds that a bit difficult to handle? I have to admit the story was intriguing, but I just couldn't get beyond the incestuous overtones. Personally speaking, I shudder at the thought of marrying my mother's ex-lover!
