This book was a very instructional piece for me. Although it doesn't directly prepare you for the Security+ exam in terms of theory, it gives you real world applications on what a security associate would be expected to do, such as setting up and securing networks, or managing policies in Windows.

Each chapter is organized by topic, then basically has dozens of "labs" for you to do. You have a [SCENARIO], [SETUP], [IN_DEPTH_INSTRUCTIONS], [RECAP]. And the author delves into each task with accompanied screen shots. Did everything in the book with a virtual machine (Virtual Box) and the necessary operating systems. Very happy with this purchase.
