Product Description

Annabelle Peyton, determined to save her family from disaster, decides to use her beauty and wit to tempt a suitable nobleman into making an offer of marriage. But Annabelle's most intriguing - and persistent - admirer, wealthy, powerful Simon Hunt, has made it clear that while he will introduce her to irresistible pleasure he will not offer marriage. Annabelle is determined to resist his unthinkable proposition...but it is impossible in the face of such skillful seduction. Her friends, looking to help, conspire to entice a more suitable gentleman to offer for Annabelle, for only then will she be safe from Simon - and her own longings. But on one summer night, Annabelle succumbs to Simon's passionate embrace and tempting kisses...and she discovers that love is the most dangerous game of all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 31 Jan 2007

This was the first Lisa Kleypas book i read and i read it non stop till in was finished i think it took me all of 2 days. the characters you fall in love with staight away, as annabelle only wants to help her family and simon ony wants what he shouldn't have (accroding to the book) the setting of the book is great as your imagination runs away with it.

All the Wallflowers books are excellent and get better and better as you get to know all 4 women, i was lucky and had bought all 4 at once and i say you should do the same so you'r not left wondering what is going to hapen.

This book has humour, fun, dancing and love, trust me if you enjoy reading then read this book. as it was my first romance regency type book its a good place to start off. ENJOY

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing, 21 Jan 2005

Lisa has outdone herself this time. It is different than her other stories. The chemistry between Annabelle and Simon is great. Simon is Mr Right for her and it took her a while to find out. The interplay between them was so romantic and the rest of the book was equal fantastic. I can't wait to get my hands on the next wallflower, Lillian Bowman. This woman is pretty feisty. Another wlecoming change. Just so refreshing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly surprised, 2 April 2007
'Secrets of a Summer Night'is the first Lisa Kleypas book i've read. I was abit dubious because of the mixed reviews, but was still tempted by the main wallflower plot. So I gave into temptation and was glad i did, as this book was excellent. It was so good i read it within 2days! I loved all the characters, the relationships between the main characters espescially Simon and Annabel was believable. I love how its not just about tragedy, heaving bosoms, confused females, and manly men. Theres also comedy and funny moments within the story. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
