This book is fantastic. It discusses all the aspects of drawing (proportion,perspective etc) in a friendly manner which is encouraging and understandable. I could not imagine anyone not being able to draw well after reading this book (provided of course that they practice).The authors (Carrie Stuart and Rick Parks) train FBI agents (and others)to produce composite drawings. Carrie Parks has won many awards for the quality of her teaching. Readers of this book would understand why. I would certainly recommend anyone wishing to inprove their drawing ability to buy this book.

Carrie Stuart Parks writes the best books on drawing that I've ever run across. She breaks it down and makes it easy to understand and I would recommend her books to anyone regardless of skill level. Everyone can learn from her books, all you have to do is be willing to invest the time, and she makes it fun. The only reason this book got 4 stars is due to the fact the step by step projects in the back were a bit of a dissapointment, not because of subject matter, but because the reference photos you are to use are so small, unless you enlarge them on a copier or computer they are very difficult to draw from. However, that being said, DO NOT let this stop you from buying this book, it is well worth the price and there is a lot of good info in it. I would also suggest her portrait book as well of all the books I have in my library of drawing, this is the one I go back to everytime.

Another awesome book by Carrie Parks. This book is for beginners or someone learning another artsts technique. Well written great visual. A must for anyone learning to draw. It is true you can learn to draw from Carie and her wonderful books. Purchase both they are great together you will learn so much at any age.

I have been drawing for years, most friends and family know me for my Artistic Drawings. I always thought How could anyone teach me More or Even Better ways to Draw Realistic. I was wrong, this Book was Great, it showed me new ways to look at things and see how it should be on Paper. Even when i am just playing around my Sketches Look Real. The Book explains in very easy directions, and a great step by step. I would get for a kid wanting to learn how to draw, or Even an Adult just wanting to Improve there Artistic abilites.
