O sensei once said martial arts without the spiritual side are just empty factories . now Aikido is unique in the martial arts world as really it is a martial spiritual art . it believes to hurt another is to hurt yourself and more like the Buddhas point to conquer onself is better then conquering a thousand men on the battlefield . the founder points out the importance of misogi or purification of mind and body , if one is not trying to purify themselves of anger selfishness and greed then really they are not practicing aikido . i have seen aikido teachers with the techniques but not the spirit of aikido , huge egos that even scoff at O Sensei's principles . this book points the universal ideal wether its aikido , yoga , toaism. the innert need to purify character and transcend as O Sensei himself had done.

The best book I've read. I practise Aikido for four years and I never knew of the conexions of Aikido with the gods untill I read this book. Not only it talks about Yin and Yang, but it talks about the way of Aiki. Very, very spiritual. For somebody who's not sure of which book to buy, I strongly advise to buy this one. It changed my Aikido life radically.
