4.0 out of 5 stars Because there's someting down there... 9 April 2005
This book details the various man made, natural and (possibly?) supernatural subterranean marvels of Bristol. From the river Frome with its own version of Charon to the coalmines that stretch under my house; via Giant's caves and man made grottos; to a Quarry that became the MOD headquarters and now threatens to swallow the city it built.

Expertly written, with enough mysteries to leave you wanted to start digging down in your back garden it details the history of forgotten areas, through photos, drawings and a foreword by Bristolian actor, archaeologist and member of the "Time Team" Tony Robinson.
