Looking at the existing reviews I thought it was about time you had one from another part of the globe. Growing up in the 1970's in England (and still am!) I always enjoyed stories, but was not particularly keen at reading. Alfred Hitchcock and the Three investigators changed all this. Stealing the Secret of Terror Castle from my brother, and holding illicit reading sessions, I was hooked. Christmas and Birthdays were now dominated by requests for Three Investigator books. Their world became mine. It didn't matter that it was based in the USA. Jupiter, Bob and Pete were truely Global Pioneers. They were like friends, perhaps even better, you knew they would never let you down or disappoint. For at least five years these guys were there with me. However, like many friendships we drifted apart, they were sent to the attic by my Dad, and when I attempted to retieve them many years later they had disappeared. I still believe my brother stole them but he disputes it. I carried on with my life, marriage, children, career, the usual, but I could never forget. Therefore when I was walking past a local second-hand bookshop near to where I work, I was amazed to see a whole row of the Three Investigator books (Original editions). They were actually on the bargain sale row, and when I took them all to the counter the assistant was very surprised. I was in seventh heaven. It was like a part of my past had been restored to me. They now have pride of place on my bookshelf at home, right next to my Charles Dickens collection. What I guess I am trying to say is that these books are not only to be read and forgotten, they have the power to stay with you forever. Thank you Robert Arthur, you helped make this Englishman's childhood a very happy one, and I will never forget that.
