The author brings to focus how essential loving yourself is before reaching good communication in a relationship. It explores the fears and value of baring our souls in front of our partner before entering into discussions about plans of great consequence. It helped me to reveal old hidden emotions and guilts to myself and my partner, allowing me to stop punishing myself. This book has brought us closer together at an early stage in our marriage. Feeling transparent in front of your partner is a wonderful feeling. Thanks J. Powell!

The author has wonderful insight on not only how to make a relationship with another person - whether it be a spouse, lover, parent, sibling or friend - work, but also how to love the most difficult person to love - yourself. It is hard to put this book down once you pick it up; it is well-written and flows nicely. It helped me through a difficult breakup and was instrumental in guiding me to self-love and acceptance. A must-read!

This is a wonderful book that explores how to really love and be loved. To find fulfillment in life instead of merely getting by! I love this book - it has really helped me and many others that I know!
