This story plot is quite different to the normal storyline in the Secret Seven series, although it is a bit similar to one or two of the Famous Five books.

The adults in the stories normally don't let the kids get involved in the books but this time, the children are asked to help and get involved after a girl goes missing and there is a theft, of all the money, from the school she went to before disappearing.

So where exactly is Elizabeth? And has Peter finally gone a bit crazy after cracking so many mysteries? Do the Seven manage to solve this puzzle with sparse clues?

As the ninth book in the series, this story is quite impressive and compared to the rest, it is very good: it is excellent. It neatly paves the way for a series of books which are alike but more complex storylines to come. I would definitely rate this wonderful book: 8.5/ 10.

As always an excellently written and well-crafted story. Being an older reader I base my reviews on how much my kids look forwards to their bed time story and how many chapters I get asked for.

This is one of the first times the adults have encouraged the SS to get involved in a mystery. I did enjoy this coos as far as I could remember this is one of the first book that the SS do encounter a locked room mystery. Have it written in child friendly language is a great way to get the kids involved in mysteries. I also like the way my kids have started to get a feel for the characters personalities. Peter's bossiness, Susie's annoy intelligence and other Janet starting to grow up a bit and not always accepting Peter's instructions blindly.

A young girl Elisabeth is accused of stealing money from her teacher's desk, and has run away to her grandma's house close to the SS home town. The SS are encouraged to keep an eye out for her. Of course this is not good enough for the SS, they want to solve the mystery as well. Can they follow the clues to the smaller mysteries and find her?
