Highly recommended,

This review is from: Secret Scars: One Woman's Story of Overcoming Self-harm (Paperback)
An honest and revealing insight into the life of a 'self-harmer'. Would recommend this book to anyone who is either struggling with self harm or trying to support somebody who is affected.

Only of use to Christians who self-harm,

This review is from: Secret Scars: One Woman's Story of Overcoming Self-harm (Paperback)
This autobiography tells of Abigail Robson's personal struggles with self-injury and eating disorders, and how she overcame her problems.A lot of Abbie's experiences are centred around her religious beliefs and relationship with God. For this reason I don't think that it is the sort of book which will appeal to everyone with an interest in autobiographical accounts of self-injury. However, it is well-written and I can see how it might particularly be of use to Christians who are struggling with self-injury and those who care about them. As with many books there are some descriptions of self-injury which might be triggering for people, but on the whole it is a fairly easy read.

A struggle with self-acceptance,

Abigail has written an honest and open account of her struggles with anorexia, bulimia and self-harm. Both people who suffer from or those who support others suffering from these issues will find this book useful.
