Danielle "Dani" Moore used to be an agent of S.I.S. (Secret Intelligence Service) She posed as the fearless assassin code-named the Sparrow. But then she let a mission get personal. Trying to find out who killed her parents long ago, Dani almost lost her own life, as well as her sister's. The S.I.S. tossed Dani aside. She would have died, but Corbett Lazlo, another former S.I.S. agent, stepped in and took responsibility for her medical treatment. Lazlo took Dani into his agency, the Lazlo Group. The Lazlo Group is a private agency known for handling the most discreet and sometimes dangerous missions. Once Dani is well enough, Lazlo introduces Dani to her new partner, Agent Mitch Lama. Mitch is Dani's former lover, but he had died in her arms long ago.
Mitch knew he loved Dani even back when they had been lovers. If only she had trusted him with the truth back then, things could have been fine now. Instead, the two must somehow put aside their personal feelings and suspicions and team up to find out who the killer within their ranks is.
**** This is an excellent addition to the Mission: Impassioned line from Silhouette Suspense. The S.I.S. is the British version of America's C.I.A. Though the setting for this story is in Europe, Mitch is American. This way the author, Caridad Piñeiro, was able to successfully blend together a story that will appeal to the American readers, as well as to the British. I recommend reading this story on a day that you need some something to lift up your spirits. This tale is very inspiring! ****
