Product Description

Product Description

Anglo-Indians are the only English speaking, Christian community in India, whose Mother tongue is English and who have a Western lifestyle in the sub-continent of India. Anglo-Indians originated during the Colonial period in India. When British soldiers and traders had affairs or married Indian women their offspring came to be known as Anglo-Indians or Eurasians in history.

This book tells you absolutely nothing about the Anglo-Indians,and appears to be more about Mr Brown, his career and his 'poetry'

Dont buy it 26 Jan 2011
Format:Paperback
As reviewed before, this book is a haphazard selection of poor writing. There is a short story where the principal character's name changes half way through! The limericks were a particularly low point. It is important that the heritage of the great Anglo Indian Community is recorded and remembered but this book makes a mockery of it. Im impressed that the author has managed to get himself published, but for his own sake don't encourage him anymore by buying this book. In the preamble he suggests that if you dont like it you can exchange it for a bucket of fish! At Birmingham Fish Market there were no takers.

This book provided belly-aching laughter and amusement for the family over Christmas time. I was alarmed at the paranoid connotation of the title. However, there was nothing to worry about. It was the harmless, manic ravings of a bored and/or disorganised mind given to reminiscing and induling in nostalgia. The cringe factor sky-rocketed for me however, when I considered some hapless individual with no background but great interest in the subject, chancing upon this book.
