So, had a review of the track someone didn`t like, and the first album, and someone who doesn`t like the genre.
Well, I love the genre the other albums from Imperia, but this one has really opened the door for Imperia. From the first track "The touch of your hand" the quality of the new direction shines through, the tune is instantly catchy, when you hear it for the second time you imediately pick up on the hook and can hum, whistle or just follow the tune straight in.
Secret Passion
Is probably the best track on the album, passionate, thought provoling lyrics, easilly pick up tune, a brilliant piece of work.
Fragile.
Another ballady paced track thats full of emotional lyrics.
Out of sight
Let down
Violence
all good quality album tracks that have there own lives and stories to tell.
Like Rain.
Another mid tempo classic that just sucks you into its brilliance. A simple tune, if they were looking for a single to promote the album, they could do worse than this track.
Suicide
The vocal gymnastics of Helena makes this track better than it would have been, if anyone else had done it, she sounds mad at the begining and end of the track, puts you in a suicide state of mind I suppose.
Hold on
Greed
Missing it all, rock along beautifly.
My sleeping Angel
Is a duet with Everon`s Oliver Phillips that is almost musicless, but again is a brilliantly simple tune that carries the song.
Mistress
I`ve read a few reniews about this track, it doesn`t sound like anything else on the album, and thats what other reviwers seem to be struggling with.
Its obviously not supposed to guys.
This is a song as the title suggests about being a mistress, use me, abuse me, whip me chain me. that sort of thing.

It has been five years since Imperia's last album Queen of Light but the wait has been well worth it. The last album was good but this release tops that. A fantastic slab of symphonic metal with a rich diversity of material, and of course the vocal gymnastics of Helena Michaelsen, who is as good as any female vocalist around. It is worth buying just for the title track alone. Unfortunately it loses a star because the final track is an awful ballad with cringeworthy lyrics. Apart from that one blemish, Imperia have created a fine album. All you have to do is buy it.

Not having listing to Imperia before I read " Angela Horz" review on the last album "Secret Passion". I decided to down load it from Amazon and was not disappointed. In deed it was so good I down loaded the previous album "Queen of light" it's marvellous . I keep play the two albums back to back so good. I was getting board with the lads music. So trying a new music type . Helena Iren Michaelsen music range is broad. The album "The Ancient Dance Of Qetesh" is not on Amazon mp3 only on import and is to expensive. So that will have to wait.

Imperia's new amazing album shows again the creative talent of Helena and her band in a breathtaking way. The music is more settled and completed than the former albums and I like especially the deep lyrics of the title song "Secret Passion" along with "Let Down" and Violence". These are my favourites on the album, which does not mean that the other songs are less stunning. In some reviews Helena's voice is frequently compared with current popular singers from the same or close-by music-genres. I don't think that such comparisons barely describe her true talent. It is rather the incredible versatility of her vocals even within the songs that makes her so extraordinary distinctive from other female artists in this area. Therefore, I think that she deserves the comparison with the best singers from ALL music-genres and times. While talking about her new album, I take the opportunity to mention also the enormous power of her previous albums. Let's consider the 2004 debut album "The Ancient Dance of Qetesh": Among many fascinating pieces there is "Escape" giving the impression that the opera-legend Maria Callas is at work (I am convinced that even Verdi and Puccini would be delighted). Then take "In Your Mind" - a very intensive piece that one simply can't resist. It has a great balance between harmonic metaphorical lyrics and sad feelings at the same time. Personally I like these two songs most. Another example of Helena's creativity is given by her 2005 solo-project "Angel". On this album called "A Woman's Diary - Chapter I" the song "Don't Wanna Run" follows smoothly the trail of Joan Baez and therefore is another highlight to me. "Darkness" from the same album is extremely courageous, because it expresses unpleasant experiences in a most striking and real way.Read more ›

I DO NOT LIKE NEW WAVE symphonic metal!
BUT DEALING WITH THE GODDESS HELENA MICHAELSEN CHANGE THE SUBJECT!
SHE IS ONE OF THE KEY NAMES OF MELODY symphonic metal, SHE WAS THE FOUNDER OF EPICA VOCALIST.
Telling WITHOUT IN THE TRAIL OF TEAR.
IN THIS ALBUM SHE CAN PASS ON VOCALS: MILD, GOTHIC AND SYMPHONY WITH A FEW THAT HAVE Mastery!
THE MEMBERS OF THE BAND CD'S STILL THE SAME BACK.
The band is tuned and needs.
BUT THE GREATEST VOCAL CREDITS ARE FOR THE GODDESS!
IF YOU WANT A CD symphonic metal, DO NOT GO BEHIND THE AMATEUR.
BUY THE IMPERA CD That They Understand the subject.
