Product Description

CD Description

After making a name for herself in the West End production of 'The Sound Of Music (thanks to her winning the Andrew Lloyd Webber talent contest How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?), Connie Fisher's second solo album sees her deliver another set of suitably stage-worthy songs. Lloyd Webber's own "Memory" from Cats gets an airing, while classics such as "Someone To Watch Over Me" and "I Could Have Danced All Night" from My Fair Lady are also ably tackled. Secret Love also features a duet with fellow Lloyd Webber talent show winner Lee Mead, in the shape of "Next Time You Fall In Love".

Well done Connie 27 Feb 2009
Format:Audio CD
This album is definitely better than the first one. Connie's voice has evolved and it just felt so much better than Favourite Things. Personal favourite is the "I could have danced all night". It's very relaxing and calming. I would recommended it to everyone who loves Connie's voice. She's just getting better and better.

I have to admit that I was unsure about purchasing this cd as I'm not generally a big fan of musical theatre. However, this album has a really contemporary, laid back feel thanks to Graham Stack's production and Connie's unique interpretation of some well loved classics.

There is no doubt that Connie has the 'likeability' factor and possesses a very commercial voice that breathes new life into songs such as the opening track 'I Could Have Danced All Night' and Lloyd Webber's 'Memory'.

However, it is lesser known songs from Starlight Express that really stand out here. 'Make Up My Heart' and her duet with fellow reality TV winner Lee Mead on 'Next Time You Fall In Love' seem effortless and show just how versatile these two new stars of London's West End really are.

Connie has certainly come a long way in a few short years and looks every inch the diva on this nicely packaged second album. Go buy - you won't be disappointed.

If you like this cd then it's also worth checking out the album by another West End star, Lyn Paul of Blood Brothers fame, called 'Late Night' available at Amazon.

Really Good 10 Mar 2009
By M. Dowden HALL OF FAME TOP 50 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Audio CD
Where shall I start? I am not really into loads of musicals and wouldn't buy their soundtracks or a collection of such, which this mainly is. However I do have a huge crush on Connie Fisher (she is drop dead gorgeous). I got this cd then with quite some trepidation, and boy am I glad I did. With songs from My Fair Lady, Calamity Jane, Starlight Express, Buddy, Toy Story 2, Pippin, Oh, Kay!, The Crooked Mile, Cats, Bittersweet and, Hullabaloo there is quite a selection. The album has thoughtfully been put together with songs that Connie can sing, that are within her range and comfort zone. Thankfully there aren't any surprises, with songs that would be inappropriate for her voice. Connie's voice always seems to me to be pure, sweet and to some degree innocent and I couldn't really imagine her singing from Cabaret or Chicago for instance.

With arrangements to suit her voice these songs have been given slight twists in some cases. All in all therefore this is a very pleasing album that is ideal to relax to.
