SL is a very old fashioned book: a catalog of observations organized by content into chapters, themselves loosely organized under the title theme. There's very little connective tissue in SL. It's pretty much all madness without method. For all that, SL is a quick and moderately entertaining/enlightening read, and it does have a lot of quite interesting bits. If you, like me, however, crave some rigor with your coffee, look elsewhere. SL is a skin deep probing of its subject matter; it is more curio cabinet than book.
