Product Description

Product Description

It takes a strong kind of person to live through something so horrendous and still survive. Imagine spending every day in fear of the next abusive attack, the tirade of scolding words which reign down continuously. Nowhere to turn for help. And all this at the hands of the two people who bring you into the world, who are supposed to nurture you. This is a journey, Leah's journey, at times a horrifyingly sickening account of degradation and abuse, leaving you feeling raw with emotion.
Whilst initially written to help recover from the trauma she suffered as a child, Leah Kane now wants to use her own experiences to ensure that no child suffers at the hands of abusers again, helping survivors see there is hope regardless of what has gone before.

What defines you is about who you are not about where you have been.

This book holds the words that Leah has wanted to say for years but has never been able to find.....

This book is not written to win literary awards. Its my words, my feelings. All I want to do is open peoples eyes to the ever growing issues of abuse. I feel like taking on the world to protect every child and stop every perpetrator. It's impossible, I know, but this book is the first part of my story, this is what happened, I hope to publish my journey to overcome it in a few months and following through with my own personal projects has made me more determined to continue raising awareness of the abuse that happens behind closed doors. It s not about being a do-gooder, its about making a stand, showing that this behaviour is unacceptable and giving every child the start they need. I wish I could offer this book for free but unfortunately I cannot do that long term so instead it's on for the minimum price.

4.0 out of 5 stars good read 18 April 2014

Really good read. Enjoyed it. However only giving 4 stars as it has so many mistakes in the typing, missing commas, mis spelled words, words missing etc. also it seemed to come to a very abrupt finish. Worth a read though

This lady went through hell and back but lived to tell the tale. Could not believe that her parents could abuse her so badly. Gut wrenching story but had to read till the end even though a Times wanted to stop. Very brave lady that is now enjoying life with her kids.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing outcome. 28 Mar 2014

Well yet another shocking read but lovely to read at the end how happy this lady is now.
Very true that she says we all need to look out for other people. It's just a shame that there are so many children, even adults, who are crying out for help. Even if we can only help one person in life it is better than none.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heartbreaking 24 July 2014
What amazing strength. To be able to endure such abuse and
Come through the other side is beyond words.
It is so sad that children suffer such appalling treatment from those that are ment to nurture and protect us from such evil. I am so pleased that Leah found the strength to share this tragic story with others..I am sure that those in similar situations will feel more able to reach out and get support from the right people.
Unless you are able to even attempt to walk in Leah's shoes for a day, you would never understand why she kept going for the the same kind of guys. One truly amazing Lady. Who I wish all the Love and good fortune she so rightly deserves.

5.0 out of 5 stars A novel 17 Sep 2014

This is rubbish. This woman was supposedly abused physically and mentally by both parents yet when she had her own children she still sees them both! Why? She loves her kids apparently so why leave them with a paedophile father and a psychotic mother. Also I find it difficult to believe this was written by someone with a university education. It is badly spelt and disjointed. I think she was a kid out of control who slept and drank around, who eventually grew up. She mixed with the uni crowd so there was much much more help to call upon than some poor unfortunates

4.0 out of 5 stars An emotional read 13 Sep 2014
Verified Purchase
This book has been written by the victim of abuse in what appears to be an attempt to heal from abuse. It is hard to read and it is unbelievable to think that parents would abuse their child so much. Why do parents do it? As long as I live I will never understand. I hope this book is followed up with how she gets through her later life and how as an adult she deals with what her parents have done to her. I feel total outrage they don't seem to been held accountable for abusing their child. Toni

5.0 out of 5 stars Warrior 24 July 2014
Verified Purchase
This book gripped me from the start, the story of betrayal of a child by the people who should be loving and caring from the day she was born.

Leah is a Warrior and should be proud of herself, I cried at the treatment she received at the hands of both her parents, then at the destructive relationships she fell into.

I strongly recommend this book to anyone.
