4.0 out of 5 stars Most exciting, 18 Dec 2007
By Antony J. Sluce (Manchester, UK) - See all my reviews
I have just played Daniels CD and really enjoyed it. The rhythmic drive was most exciting and he had some catchy melodies. I will be interested to follow his career.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting new contemporary music, 18 Dec 2007
By Peter Bunce (Cambridge, UK) - See all my reviews
Having listened to the disc, I found all the pieces truly electrifying. I love the way the music combines elements of jazz with the more 'classical' sound. I particularly enjoyed the different moods that were suggested and rarely did I lose concentration during any the pieces. I look forward to more music from Daniel Hewson and his ensemble!

5.0 out of 5 stars new piano quintet original and exciting, 18 Dec 2007
By maryann (manchester) - See all my reviews
thank you dan for creating a new piano quintet - original and exciting yet 'listenable'. the other tracks are very good too; piano solos, string quartet, duet for cello and piano. the whole cd is beautifully performed and produced. makes me want to play it again and again. it will appeal especially to cellists, pianists and string quartet players, as well as the general listener.
