This is the story of Jack and his imagination. Follow Jack as he finds The Secret Door in the ground that leads to the Other-Realm where anything is possible.

An adventurous boy finds more than he bargains for when playing alone in his backyard. The Secret Door leads to a place where imagination becomes real: The Other-Realm. The door disappears and he has to find his way out by another route.
Jack forgets things as he goes deeper into the Other-Realm. He becomes lost the further he gets. Excitement, danger, and triumph follow Jack on his path.
Can he find his way back home? Or will he live in the Other-Realm forever as part of his own imagination?

Evan Dennis is a video game-loving seventh grader who wrote The Secret Door in 2008 as part of an elementary school literary contest. He enjoys adventure stories and has a very big imagination. It is his greatest goal to one day become a video game developer, and until that time he aspires to write some more adventure stories from The Other-Realm.

Okay, it's a short story that will take less than 10 minutes to read.
Okay, it's not the most in depth short story ever written.
BUT this was written by a young boy for a schools competition, and on that basis it's worth reading.
If he didn't win the competition, I'd love to be able to read some of the other entries!
I hope as he gets older he does continue to write because if this is anything to go by, he'll have a great future ahead of him.

This story was very enjoyable to read. The story does a great job of captivating the reader into believing they know what is happening when in the end it is a surprise! This one was so imaginative, I look forward to reading more of Evan's stories.

I am very happy that I bought this book. I don't want to add any spoilers, but I have to add that one of the things I LOVED about the book is the twist. Books that have twists in them are my favorite. These twists are what helps to keep the stories interesting. GREAT JOB!!!!!

I was looking for something short and quick to read, saw The Secret Door, and thought, hey, looks good! Now, I know my grandkids will LOVE this, too! Its perfect for ALL of them! I won't give away the story, but it flows well, and Jack, the main character sounds like a great kid!

Then, I wondered how someone could capture the perfect essence of a curious young boy so well! I decided to look up the author, WHOA! Evan Dennis was in elementary school when he wrote this???? I see a great future for this young author!
