Based on the book by author Belle De Jour, a woman who wrote about her sexual escapades while working as a London Call Girl to support herself and the struggles that her double life brought her to terms with.
Hannah, a beautiful, well-educated and down to Earth young woman fools her family into believing she's a legal secretary making a ton of money for a prestigious law firm while she truthfully is a successful high class prostitute who entertains a range of clients who come to her to live out the fantasies they can't with their girlfriends and wives. Under the pseudonym Belle, she spends her life carefully planning her encounters down to the letter while speaking to her audience as if giving a lecture on how she lives her double life carefully, safely and successfully as a modern anti-superhero in her unorthodox but intriguing lifestyle.
Regardless of her careful planning however, things occasionally go wrong, leading her to face dire consequences, dangerous situations and sometimes, even heartbreak, as 'Belle's' profession leaves very little time for Hannah to have a personal life or any full-fledged relationships. A very entertaining series that is direct and truthful in it's approach to modern sexuality, relatable with moments of sadness, joy, and humour. However, one notes that each episode is only around twenty-five minutes long, leaving the audience feeling slightly gasping (gagging?) for more - this is definately a series that should have been commissioned to hour long episodes thanks to it's content.
An enjoyable series that I'm sure women of 18-30 will absolutely enjoy and relate to.
