Comment on 2nd Edition of Secondary Traumatic Stress
I am delighted that Sidran Press was able to publish an expand edition of this book. For the second edition, I added an annotated bibliography, an index, updates on the telemedicine chapter, a discussion of terms, an administrative/policy chapter, and the revised version of the Compassion Fatigue Self-Test (Figley & Stamm, 1995) which is expanded to include a measure of Compassion Satisfaction as well as Fatigue (Stamm & Figley, 1999).
I am delighted that Sidran Press was able to publish an expand edition of this book. For the second edition, I added an annotated bibliography, an index, updates on the telemedicine chapter, a discussion of terms, an administrative/policy chapter, and the revised version of the Compassion Fatigue Self-Test (Figley & Stamm, 1995) which is expanded to include a measure of Compassion Satisfaction as well as Fatigue (Stamm & Figley, 1999).
I also included information based on 100s of e-mails from people who read the 1st edition. I never expected the world-wide response from readers. When I mapped the projects that people had written to me about, I discovered that the projects spanned more than 20 countries and 30 caregiving specialties.
I hope that you enjoy this book and find it a refreshing and hopeful look at a serious problem.
