3.0 out of 5 stars SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE 24 Aug 2011
By L. Sims TOP 50 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Mandy and Kip were sweethearts at school. Mandy always wondered what Kip saw in her, she was plump and plain, well that's how she saw herself. Whereas Kip was the best looking and most popular boy in school. Their romance continued after school, then when Mandy was to start university to fulfill her dream of becoming a teacher, Kip was offered the chance to play professional hockey, they agreed to go their separate ways. Now eleven years later Mandy is a single mother, her son Colton is the centre of her world, then she receives a friend request on her Facebook page from none other than Kip, after all these years and no contact. She mulls over the request for some days then takes the plunge and accepts.
This is a nice read inasmuch that as an erotic romance it has a good story line, Mandy is a nice woman but very ordinary, leading an ordinary life. While Kip is a pro sportsman with quite a high profile. The writing style is okay if a little wooden, the dialogue at times is forced. The love scenes especially show this. But overall not a bad read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweetheart Storyline 12 April 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
It took a few pages to get into the flow of this one, but surprisingly it proved really quite good .... even eliciting a few tears at the end.

The "hero" for the want of a better word, Kip, annoyed me a bit sometimes with his gently gently approach - I did think a couple of times "man up", but then again maybe that is why the lovely Mandy loved him so, setting aside his killer body and bucket loads of money that he made as a NHL player!

A few typographical and grammar errors, but then again it is rare to get a clean copy of anything these days, and they definitely didn't detract from the overall storyline.

A freebie for me, which I was really quite pleased with, and am looking forward to finding other offerings by this new author to me.

All things considered a 3.5 star read for the blog, but better than being downgraded on Amazon, so I've rounded up to 4.

Easy reading, lovely book to read on holiday, I was intrigued by it and read it in 24 hours, as when I put it down, I needed to get back to it to see what happened.

Not a bad romance novel a bit slower than I thought it would have been given the reviews. Good ending to it but from a girl's point of view hockey ain't a sporting game I know... Read more

I liked this. It's a nice simple love story with a pretty predictable ending. A good holiday read with likable characters.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good story, bad grammar
A lovely feel good love stormy of two high school sweethearts, however it was plagued by spelling and grammar mistakes. It's a shame, spoiled the book.
