4.0 out of 5 stars You did it again, Ms. Dugan 18 Jun 2012
By Adrian C. Columbia - Published on Amazon.com

I received this book and immediately loved the background of each holiday we celebrate as Pagans, but there are also amazing spells and ritual ideas that can be done as a solitaire, groups, or even with your kids. Ellen's style of writing is so easy to read because her information is approachable, never condescending or wordy. Each page reads as though you were sitting on the porch in her back garden, having a friendly conversation. There is no fluff bunny stuff here just good old fashioned information, and I love her entire series of books about garden witchery, kitchen witchery, and the like. This is a terrific addition to any Wiccan library to have a way to connect each holiday to both God/dess and nature.

Thank you, Ellen, for always creating solid books I never worry about steering other Pagans to, whether they are new or have been practicing for years.

5.0 out of 5 stars A breath of fresh air! 5 Jun 2012

I can't say enough about this latest installment from Ellen Dugan! So often the books that we have to choose from are all rehashed "same ole same ole". Ellen Dugan breaks away from the pack with this one and gives us all a glimpse into her own life as a garden witch. Inspirational and something you will return to again and again. A+!

2.0 out of 5 stars Journal 6 Aug 2012
By mossy cat - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Read the description carefully. This book is more like a journal where the author shares experiences and anecdotes. She writes about jogging, decorating her yard, wine with friends, meeting authors, etc. She states that authors like to talk a lot, and this book reflects that, her talking about herself. It is not like Cottage Witchery or Garden Witchery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring and practical 17 Jun 2012
By Crystal - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
A great read. It isn't like picking up a boring textbook. With this book, like of Ellen's work, sets an atmosphere. It was as if I was sitting with Ellen in her gardens listening to her tell it like it is. She shares stories and events from her own life, her own coven. Her tips for celebrating each sabbat are creative, yet simple and practical. Ellen shares recipes for foods that are traditional for the sabbats but still different from what you've tried in other books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Christian/pagan seasons 30 Jan 2013
By SLR - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Iam not in a coven, Iam not a witch but I do know these people. Iam a christian who has an open mind and loves to read good authors. Dugan is funny, entertaining, informative and an excellent writer. Her books (and I have most of them) tell the reader facts about plants and their meanings, receipes so good, funny facts about her life, ideas for decorating...yes...some spells for lots of things, but you are free to pick and choose your beliefs and just enjoy the change of seasons and their meanings for pagan and christian. Her gardening techniques and suggestions are great and can be used by all. Invest in your personal knowledge and buy ALL her books.
