Product Description

Today, Sea Sonic Electronics launches the S12II "Bronze" Series; the updated version of the award winning S12II Series to meet the growing demand for high efficiency and yet price competitive power supplies. The S12II Bronze Series achieves the 80 PLUS Bronze standard of at least 82%, 85% & 82% power usage efficiency at 20%, 50% & 100% operating loads respectively. This, combined with Active Power Factor Correction, enables the S12II Bronze to reduce energy waste, boost power efficiency and more importantly, reduce the energy costs for the users. In addition to the efficiency upgrade, the S12II Bronze Series maintains the strong foundations of the S12II series. Important features such as the stable and proven Double Forward Converter circuit design, the industry leading Smart and Silent Fan Control (S2FC) and the use of high reliability Japanese brand capacitors are all carried forward to the "Bronze". The S12II Bronze Series, similar to its predecessors, is available in the standard ATX Form Factor and in wattages that are most common for a PC system. In addition to the all-in-one cabling design, the 520W and 620W models come with additional EPS connectors for IPC and server systems and supports both 6P & 8P PCI-E connectors for the most current and high end dual graphic cards. The S12II Bronze Series meets most major safety and EMC directives and as well, environmental regulations such as RoHS & WEEE. Special built-in protection features such as Over Voltage Protection (OVP), Over Power Protection (OPP), Short Circuit Protection (SCP), and Over Current Protection (OCP) are also included for added safety and usage reliability.

Great PSU gives good performance. But would not recommend getting it unless you're ok with being up to your eyeballs in MOLEDS and SATA power cables. I hugely recommend going modular if you can will save you a huge amount of hassle in cable management. But lives up to it's rating and billing provides very good power and seems to maintain decent temps. Very pleased with it aside from the amount of cable ties I went through.

A great PSU, more connectors than you could ever need and whisper quiet. Powering an FX-8230, a HD7870 , two 10,000RPM HDD's and a standard 7200rpm storage disk with no issues.

Great power supply. Does a great job and is super quit thanks to the ball bearing fan.
Really good quality for a really good price. Would recommend!

The plug is a 2-pin, so you will need to purchase a 'travel' adapter. Fortunately the PSU accepts both 230V and 130V inputs, so no transformer is needed to use it safely.

The 8pin power cable is not long enough to neatly route to the top of an ATX MOBO (if the PSU is mounted on the bottom of the case), so if you care about cable management, this is not ideal, and you should probably look for a fully modular PSU.

It's been my first day of use, replacing a cheap brand psu which was notorious for blowing under load. It's fairly hefty in it's weight, and easy enough to install, though it's left my internal a little bit of a mess due to the non-modular design. At some point I'll have to go back in and see what I can do to tidy things up, but you have to expect that with a non-modular design.
