WOW! A story book to inspire writers,

Wow! I have shared this book with my class and both boys and girls alike have been enthralled. They were so desperate to here the sequal that I had to order the second book the moment that we finished the last page.
The vocabulary used by the author is delightful and it creates wonderful images which the children in my Year 2 class have been inspired to use in their writing. What a lovely book- definately a must for the bookshelf.

My five-year-old daughter loved this and all the other books in the series; she couldn't wait to be read to before going to bed. It's a very well-told tale with easy-to-grasp concepts for a five-year-old, particularly one who likes books about mermaids, princesses and fairies. [Her older sister hates 'girly stuff' (her words) like this and loves instead Sue Mongredien's Oliver Moon books.] The language level is great for this age - challenging but not too difficult, and teaches a lot about sea creatures and the sea (tides, deep sea volcanoes, the Arctic Ocean ...). I'd definitely recommend it. Good for young independent readers, too, I imagine.
