I've liked them for a long while, a few years. They're an old school heavy metal band, but sound modern. They recently won battle of the bands in The Sun (previously won by bands including Dirty Pretty Things and Arctic Monkeys), and this is their first album, so quite possibly the Vipers are an act to look out for.

Mmm, where to start, i would say that this band has a lot of promise and as a first album its ok. But they never really seem to get out of third gear and soar to where you would instantly pin them as a top notch rock band. With the multitude of similar bands currently on the scene (Backyard Babies, Heart Attacks etc..) I think the Vipers would be second division, and the website comparisons to AC/DC are misguiding. The songs are good enough but need better production and some more adventurous lead guitar playing, the solos are so very predictable and mechanical, average blues scale patterns, totally uninspiring. If this band wants big success then changes have to happen, it can be achieved as they look fantastic......but dont quite sound it...yet !

Imperial Vipers are definitely a rock act to look out for. With music press comparing them to bands such as Free, Guns n Roses and MC5, they have a lot to live up to, but they certainly manage to do this with their awesome debut 'Searching:Falling:Silence'.

From the opener 'Hard To Smile', to the closing track 'Sun Dissolves', there is not one weak track on this album.

If you like proper rock n' roll, invest in this - the best rock album I have heard for a long time.

With a massive touring effort all across the country they are worth catching live as well - look out for them, they're going to be huge!

Found out about these guys on some sampler and just had to have the album. Pricey because it was shipped from overseas, but worth it.
