Sealskinz waterproof socks and gloves use patented technology, ensuring the ultimate in waterproof and breathable protection for the feet and hands. Great in the cold and wet, the waterproof technology keeps you warm and dry. Even when it?s warm, sweat is pulled away from the body and leaves through the highly breathable membrane. As a result SealSkinz products ensure your feet, hands and head always remain totally dry. They also reduce the chance of blisters on your feet as the three-layer technology helps to prevent your foot being rubbed against your shoe. SealSkinz exceptional technology uses a unique seamless three layer construction ? an outer, a waterproof, highly breathable membrane and an inner lining. How They Work Inner Layer The inner lining has been specially developed to actively wick moisture away from the skin to increase comfort and warmth and reduce the chance of blisters. It is made from either Coolmax or Merino wool. Middle Layer The waterproof breathable membrane is inserted using patented technology and allows perspiration, as water vapour to escape whilst preventing water coming in. The membrane typically has a breathability of greater than 65% WVP, making the socks and gloves completely waterproof, highly breathable and windproof. Outer Layer The outer layer is designed for extra durability and abrasion resistance with stretch to fit properties. It is tough and durable designed to stand up to all weather conditions

I have these gloves in black and use them for cycling to work in all weathers. They are waterproof in the nastiest of rain storms and totally windproof too. I would highly recommend them for autumn and spring.
The cuffs are nice and long to fit underneath a waterproof jacket or a jumper and keep your wrists warm. The grippy bits are very good and have not fallen off or worn down and are useful for gripping the handlebars and changing gear. I also find that the gloves are flexible and thin enough to be able to lock my bike up and switch on/off and remove accessories such as lights and bags whilst wearing the gloves.
I have found that if I wear them on a warm day and I get hot, my hands get a bit sweaty inside the gloves which after a while can make them smell, but I have washed these in the machine at 40 degrees celcius a couple of times now and their waterproof and windproof capabilities have not diminished.
If you tend to have fairly cold hands even while cycling like me then I woudn't recommend these gloves for very cold weather (+/- 4 degrees celcius) because I found that my fingers got very, uncomfortably cold.
I really like the fact that these are now available in hi-vis - this will come in really useful for cycling, especially in the dark.
