They're certainly waterproof but no way would I describe them as suitable for "extra cold" - it's not even dipped below freezing and my hands are frozen in them on just 25 minute cycles; I've done a few wearing these with different levels of wind. To be fair, it's mostly my whole thumb and finger-tips which are icy (the palm is relatively warm...)
I've used Sealskinz before (socks) so know the brand but whilst these feel snug when putting them on, there's no way I'm relying on these for anything other than spring/autumn days.
If I'd bought a bigger size I could have tried them with a liner glove inside, but the size I bought has no excess room to allow this.

i have not had chance to try out the gloves in really cold weather yet as we havent had any yet ,but i dont think that they will keep out a really cold morning frost that we have in the winter time but then i have tried countless gloves that have proven not to be as warm as they say they were ,but at least they are comfy and im sure there waterproof as well .
