Amazon Review

This tale of a very special friendship between a young boy and a seal is accompanied by Michael Foreman's atmospheric and evocative illustrations. The young boy is present when the young seal pup is born and as the seasons pass he watches it grow. When summer comes around and the boy goes surfing, he is delighted when his seal friend joins in. When the seal saves his life, their bond becomes unbreakable and as the two grow older, their friendship is maintained. This is a touching and timeless story in which the power of the sea and the power of friendship are portrayed strongly in both the text and the illustrations. Seal Surfer was highly commended for the NASEN Children's Book Award for 1996. --Philippa Reece --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Lovely book, condition not as good as I'd have liked. Think the cover might fall off soon and pages a bit grubby.

Seal surfer is a story of a young boy and his friend, a seal. It contains themes of birth, life and death, and the enjoyment of time spent in nature and with animals. The artwork is gorgeous, especially the color and water views. The language is very descriptive and very sensitive. My four year old boy loved it!
