Seagate - Momentus 7200.4 ST9320423AS - Hard drive - 320 GB - internal - 2.5'...

I bought this to replace my SMART failing HDD in my 13.3" White MacBook a few months ago, and have noticed several things, itemised here for clarity:

1: Boot times have been reduced by about a 1/3. Very welcome, says I.
2: Increased storage is a godsend. Hello Win7!
3: Battery drains ever-so-slightly faster, but read-write speeds are much quicker. An ample trade-off for a photographer like me.
4: Seek noises (the clicking some people complain about) are much lower in volume than my stock drive.

On a side note, the box this came in was quite bizarre - The postman delivered to my neighbours whilst I was out, and when I came back, they handed over a box that you would expect to find a printer in. I couldn't fathom what might be inside, as this was the only thing I had bought online for ages. Opened it up to find a single A4 sheet detailing my delivery, and a small box that contained the hard-drive in an anti-static bag. No additional padding.

Slapped the drive in, fearing the worst, only to be told that it was in tip-top condition. Very pleased, particularly as my sorting office does their best to destroy anything and everything that passes through their domain.

Conclusion: The packaging may be a bit off (perhaps that was just mine), but once it gets to you, a brilliant little upgrade. Go for it!

Replaced the failed Fujitsu in my Sony Vaio laptop, immediate performance improvement and increase in Windows Experience rating for the hard drive from 4.4 to 5.9. 6 months on, still great and highly recommended.

No doubt a great drive but despite ordering from ADMI I never got to find out as even though they advertised it as being in stock it wasn't.
However, I never discovered this until emailing ADMI 5 days after placing the order because they hadn't yet dispatched it. I was then told it was out of stock and they probably wouldn't have it for 1-2 weeks. I discovered, on examining their feedback, that this isn't exactly a rare occurrence so I cancelled the order. I then discovered that Amazon don't allow feedback on orders that have been cancelled (a handy way of keeping bad feedback to a minimum and increasing sales perhaps) so this note is the only opportunity I have to warn other potential victims. I ordered a WD Black Sapphire instead from another seller as the price for this one increased to £60+ but on writing this review, a few days after my experience, ADMI are once again advertising it as in stock. Whether it is or not who knows?
