I have the "sea to summit silk sleeping bag liner" (without the hood) and liked it so much I wanted a second silk liner. This time I got the one with the hood. I thought it would be comfortable on my face.
I was dissapointed to discover that this liner is shorter than the non-hooded liner, also the hood is only 27cm [10½"] which seems a lot but in practice scrunches up too easily leaving you not lying on it.
The 'standard' (non-hood) liner is made of one long piece folded over at the foot and sewed up both sides (although it tapers which makes the shape slightly more complex).
The with-hood liner has a more complicated shape, it tapers more agressively but there is also a 'round' piece at the foot. This foot-piece seems like a good idea as it makes more room for your feet but after only a few light uses one of the seems at the foot failed, something that's not possible with the standard liner (since there are no seams at the bottom).
I'm returning this liner as faulty and will be replacing it with another of the standard (non-hood) mummy silk liners.
Other than these things I was again very happy with the liner, it's tiny compared to other (fleece or cotton) liners, warm and very comfortable. Although I never got to wash this liner I'd expect it to wash and dry as easily as my other silk one. While it is 'gentle 30°C' and could be machine washed it hand washes easily and drys quickly.
This liner (with the hood) was a navy blue, however the manufacturer also makes 5 other colours so no guarantees what colour you might get from this distributor.
The liner stuffs back into the sack easily.
My measurements came to:
Sack Size 15cm tall * 7½ cm diameter [6" * 3"]
weight 135g [~4¾ oz]
Length (not counting hood) 172cm [5' 8"]
Hood length 27cm [10½"]
width at head 80cm [2' 7½"]
width at foot 27cm [10½"]
This is shorter and narrower than the mummy_without_a_hood liner.
