5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for C2C 9 Jun 2009
Just done the c2c, every couple in our party had their own route map in case we got seperated - which we did. You can get by without the C2c guidebook but the route map is essential for reference. Describes the route in detail but beware if you stray off route as the map only covers a small area to get everything in. Would have appreciated ordance survey map when we went off road, as we took wrong turn and needed more information C2C map had on it. In summary the sea to sea route map is recommended for anyone interested in the c2c.

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful, but many live without 4 Jun 2009
It is possible to undertake the C2C route without the map, as it is very well signposted from Whitehaven to Sunderland, however, for the price, it is well worth having to refer to throughout the trip.

The map is split into sections of the ride, rather than one full map, showing the route and mile markers whilst displaying the off-road and alternative sections. I would however recommend that you research which off-road parts to undertake (you can do this with the C2C guide on the internet), as some of the routes marked on the map are not possible to cycle in any direction (as we found out to our cost).

5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the tin! 12 Sep 2011

Although the C2C route is well signposted, the map is also useful for general planning, mileage calculations and alternative routes. In my opinion, best used in conjunction with a more descriptive book, such as The Ultimate C2C Guide.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must-have if you do C2C 5 July 2012

This map is the must-have map if you do C2C. Surface condition, alternative routes, bike shops on the routes, altitude, and etc, everything you need to know during the trip is on this map. This also comes with a plastic transparent cover so you can quickly check the map even on a rainy day.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hobsons choice 17 Aug 2010

As this is the only strip map available it is difficult to fault in its usefulness. However, it is a poor guide as there are so many options. Lack of NGR make it difficult to pinpoint your location. Used to support a large event and it was necessary to refer to OS maps for any detailed location information.

What would be really useful is a larger scale - linked to OS - with access shown for walkers / cycles and motor vehicles ( yes emergency vehicles do need to know where they can quickly reach any off road areas)

In summary useful but could be much better

Essential if you want a safe way to cycle from east to west or the other way if that is your bag. The gradient graphs are very useful if not a bit intimidating !

Brilliant map, really simple to follow even by a novice! Only got lost twice and that wasn't even the maps fault. Good to know what hills you have round the corner!
