notes on sculling,
By
This review is from: Sculling: Training, Technique and Performance (Paperback)
This is an excellent book and merits re-reading many times. I am quite an experienced sculler but I found the section on rigging to be very useful, if a little dry. Some more discussion of the variation in physique between people and it's effect on rigging would have been useful, especially when coaching others. I thought the picture on p92 in the Training section of a forward bend with weights could be dangerous for someone inexperienced to copy due to the stress on the lower back with a free weight which might get out of control. Luckily there are gym machines which do the same thing absolutely safely. A must read.

I'm not a novice sculler but my technique has improved rapidly with such expert advice. I thoroughly recommend this book even if like me you've been sculling for years. Thanks so much!!!!!

I bought this book for my son who has started to scull. It has been very informative and it is broken down into manageable sections which is easy to follow. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to really understand how to move that boat through the water.........faster!!
