Piers Lane is a fine pianist but this recording of Scriabin's complete Etudes disappointed me. The complexity of Scriabin's score tend to get muddled and his playing lacks the extra transcendental edge that is so essential to playing any of Scriabin's piano works. Listen, for example, to Sofronitsky, Horowitz or Richter's rendition of Scriabin Etudes, then you know what I mean.
As a complete digital recording of the Etudes, I would opt either for Fergus-Thompson's breath-takingly sensitive ASV recordings which won Gramophone award in the instrumental category or Arthur Greene's Titanic account which matches the Russian masters.
