Screwcutting in the Lathe - Pages printy faulty,
By
This review is from: Screw-cutting in the Lathe (Workshop Practice) (Paperback)
If you order one of these, check straght away that all the pages are printed correctly. I've received 2 copies so far and both have pages printed upside down, wrong way around. According to the book my editions were printed (reprinted) 2003 & 2005.Other than that the book is VERY comprehensive, and mostly easy to read (upsdie down!)

Gearing and methematics,

This review is from: Screw-cutting in the Lathe (Workshop Practice) (Paperback)
This book makes a good reference book as it contains good information on how to setup your lathe so that cross slide traverses at the correct speed in respect to the rotation of the work. It includes lots of different gearing ratios for both Imperial and Metric and for when you want to do Metric on an Imperial lathe and vice versa. The practical aspects to screwcutting for a beginner are perhaps better covered in The Amateur's Lathe
