This is a whole world of exploration in advanced love making. For beginners, it represents a Pandora's box of surprises and I hope excitement.
I found the layout to be well thought out, a gentle introduction which feeds the mind with ideas, followed by advanced technique. For the DIYers out there, there is an introduction to making your own toys and lots of resource information in the back.
The authors comment frequently on the importance of communication and understanding by both partners - especially when setting out on this adventure.
In some ways, the technique is almost secondary, I think most readers, once they accept that they have more than a passing interest, will have a good idea of what pushes their buttons. The book handles the less tangible aspects of SM very well, reassurance for those unsure of their feeling, advice for those who are trying SM for the first time and useful tips for partners already involved and enjoying SM.
I found this book to be a revelation, very refreshing, reassuring in many ways. A few things made me blink in surprise, some was absolutely fascinating; much of the content can be adapted and intensified with little extra preparation to suit individual taste.
I particularly liked the humour, the style. A good manual for everyone. I commend it to the House!

This is without doubt my best investment in furthering my knowledge of the BDSM scene. The humour is top knotch but the wealth of information found within these pages is immesurable when compared to simular books. I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone new to BDSM or just wanting to expand thier knowledge to buy this before anything else!

Opinionated and factual, relevant and intelligently humorous, the darker side of desire is explored, probed and caressed by Philip and Molly to give a truly outstanding work. Features like knots,rope harnesses, making your own equipment, correct methods of using floggers and even a complete breakdown of the male and female anatomy with target areas and places to avoid clearly marked all add up to the most comprehensive guide to the lifestyle there is.
