As a recent "recruit" to the world of silk screen printing I found this book very helpful and informative. It covers all the important areas of the technique including the basic principles, equipment and methods. Since everyone has not the opportunity to work in a studio and get expensive equipment, it's reassuring to know that very little is needed to get started and still get nice results. Even if the information is a little outdated, the basics don't change and the advice on colour printing and registering was very helpful. There are more up-to-date books available, but since the emphasis is more on photographic methods using light sensitive solutons rather than old-fashioned paper stenciling which is simple enough to do even with children, I find also this book very good for a beginner.
